During her junior and senior years at the University of Arizona (Bear Down!), she worked as a full-time web producer for CBS affiliate KOLD-TV, and reported nightly on-air segments to promote the website and mobile app. Jackie's broadcast career started in Tucson, Ariz. She has great memories as a field producer and anchor at some of the area’s biggest community events, including the Nebraska State Fair and the annual Kool-Aid Days in Hastings, the birthplace of Kool-Aid. She covered stories impacting Central Nebraskans, from major weather events to the city council beat. As a so-called “one man band,” Jackie shot, wrote, and edited her reports in addition to setting up her own live shots. Jackie also spent time in the Cornhusker state as NBC Nebraska’s weekend anchor/producer and a weeknight multi-media journalist. She also exposed a Santa Fe City Council candidate who tried running for office as a convicted felon and lied to voters about her criminal history. Her reporting led the Albuquerque City Council to update an ordinance letting out-of-state visitors with disabilities access parking across the city. She also reported on issues with the state’s criminal justice system and the latest COVID developments. She held people in power accountable while covering Albuquerque’s crime problem. Prior to her time in Seattle, Jackie worked as an anchor and reporter for CBS-affiliate KRQE in New Mexico. During her time in the Pacific Northwest, she has covered major breaking news events including devastating flooding in South Park caused by king tides the deadly Ingraham High School shooting, and students’ demands for more mental health resources to help prevent a similar tragedy in the future. I have reported and anchored the news, covered the Sounders MLS championship runs, Seahawks Super Bowls, Mariners pre-&-post-game shows, Sonics, and all Husky athletics along with hosting several national and local programs, including MCing community events. I’ve also been fortunate in following my other broadcasting passions. Although my first TV job took me to eastern Washington’s NBC station, KNDO. I feel blessed because I’ve spent almost my entire career working in Seattle. My kids play baseball, basketball, and soccer and that keeps us busy but has given us the chance to travel around the country together for games. My other favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and children and our dog Loki. My high school teams were state champions, which led me straight to the intercollegiate women’s soccer program at the University of Washington. I grew up playing soccer at the top levels in Washington State and traveled the country for tournaments. ![]() There’s just something about the fresh, clean, crisp air that keeps me here year after year, and maybe that’s why I also love forecasting our region’s weather so much… even if it means getting up in the wee hours of the morning or staying up late at night! I’ve been forecasting in the Northwest for more than two decades and I’m still fascinated by the ever-changing, crazy weather our area throws at us.īesides anchoring the weather one of my favorite activities is playing soccer.
